BTS MATERIALS
Based out of Vancouver, Canada, we are perfectly positioned to provide BTS production services to film productions in Vancouver – the third largest centre for filming in North America. We are also enthusiastic about filming projects outside Vancouver (we like travel).
Being Canadian citizens and British Columbia residents, on film projects qualifying for government incentives, additional savings may be accomplished to productions in Canada by structuring our services in such a way that they may be "rolled into" the client's feature budget – thereby enabling the BTS expenses to qualify as eligible expenditures in accordance with FIBC (Film Incentive BC), PSTC (Production Services Tax Credits) and/or the Federal Film or Video Production Service Tax Credit governing rules and regulations.
The following pricing is based upon the following factors:
- consultation with the producer and/or director in relation to the goals of the production;
- scripting and storyboarding (as necessary);
- final approval of script by the producer and/or director;
- location filming within the "Greater Vancouver Tax Zone" (think Greater Vancouver);
- up to two days filming behind-the-scenes "on set";
- up to three days of cast and crew interviews;
- edit of material into "rough cut";
- conference with the producer and/or director for approval of rough cut of materials; and
- final edit, rendering and delivery of deliverables to the producer (one rendered production up to fifteen minutes in length).
Based on the foregoing, our charge for delivery of one BTS feature to a production (exclusive of applicable federal or provincial taxes) is $6000. If you wish the services of our professional on-camera interviewer, then the cost is $7000.
The reasons we can deliver on projects such as this so cheaply is a function of a number of factors, including:
- The Canadian dollar rose - then fell. We capitalized our business when the dollar was high and we are now able to pass on our savings to productions coming to Canada;
- We own our own equipment so our overhead is lower; and
- We're new to this segment of the industry - we want new clients and we want them to get to know us and what we can do.
We want you to use us, love what we do for you and want us back on your next production. And after we've made ourselves indispensable, we'll raise our prices – just a little.
