Equipment

Why do you need to know what kind of equipment we use? You don't. Many production houses simply rent the equipment they need for any given project.

But we don't do that. We own our equipment.

Why?

Because we believe that we do a better job using our own equipment. We are careful with our equipment (because we own it) and we know our equipment inside and out (because we own it). We aren't therefore picking up someone else's cameras or lights to use on the day of your shoot – we are using our own carefully cared for equipment which we know so well. We believe that translates into a better product for the client at the end of the day – in part because we own the equipment and we definitely know how to use it.

Clients also appreciate the fact that we have the equipment and accessories in our inventory because if a project unexpectedly calls for a special piece of equipment (such as a steadicam or high-angle jib shot), we don't have to renegotiate our contract price with the client to reflect an add-on rental cost for that equipment.  We simply pull the necessary equipment out of our existing inventory and get the shot the client needs.

Here's what we presently have to offer:

Cameras: We have cameras that enable us to shoot in standard definition progressive mode (704 x 480p or 640 x 480p) up to High Definition (1280 x 720p). HD projects can be delivered in formats at 24 or 30 frames per second. Standard Definition projects can be delivered in formats up to 60 frames per second.

Sound: Incredible images and great acting can be ruined in the final product by poor sound quality. We have a selection of "shotgun", wireless and handheld microphones, boom, blimp, a four-track field mixer and digital field recorder to enable us to ensure that the sound for your project is of the highest quality.

Lighting: Lighting is the key to delivering great images. Our lighting equipment (including stand-mounted tungsten and camera-mounted lights, soft boxes, light panels, bounce boards, reflectors, gels, etc.) enables us to properly light almost any scene and give the images their desired impact.

Camera Support: In addition to the necessary camera tripods (and our camera operators have broad shoulders for those shoulder-supported shots), we also have "steadicam"–type support equipment (worn by the camera operator) to facilitate delivery of incredibly smooth images where movement of the camera through or around a scene is necessary.  We also have a state-of-the-art boom/jib (with a pan-and-tilt head and remote focus and zoom controls) for those sweeping high- and low-angle shots.

Lenses and Adapters: We have various lenses, lens adapters and filters to enable us to deliver distinctive, impressive images rivaling those of high budget film productions.

Special Effects: We have SPFX equipment that enables us to produce amazing effects. We have the ability to create fog/smoke/steam effects with our two fog machines (one airborne fogger and one ground fog device). We also have the experience and resources within the industry to create realistic blood, gunshot and other special effects should the project call for them.

Editing Suites: We have the editing suites (referred to as "non-linear editors" – or "NLEs") to professionally edit and render your project incorporating an excellent array of effects. However – we never use a post-production effect unless it promotes the client's project and enhances its overall look and feel. If a particular effect doesn't enhance the project, then it's just a gimmick – and we won't use it.
